The number of the "gold visas" issued by Spain increased almost by 23%
In 2019 the country provided to foreigners 8,061 residence permits for investments. It is 22.6% more, than the previous year.
As writes an information portal since in 2013 in Spain the law on issue of the residence permit to foreign citizens for capital investments was adopted, the country breaks the seventh year in a row records on number of the provided "gold visas".
According to the parliamentary answer prepared by the government for the deputy Bildu to Jón Inarritu in 2019 Spain issued 8,061 residence permits for investments that for 22.6% exceeds an indicator of the 2018th.
Most of all "gold visas" in Spain in 2019 Chinese received (1686). They are followed by Indians (947), Brazilians (549), Colombians (531), Americans (507), Mexicans (503) and Russians (340).
According to Board of registrars, in 2019 foreigners purchased in Spain 3858 units of housing worth more than €500,000 (a minimum amount to apply for the residence permit). From them 1393 objects received owners from the countries which are not entering the EU that is just those who had the right to the residence permit for investments. Most of all expensive objects nonresidents purchased in Catalonia (477), Andalusia (324), Madrid (251), Valencia (138) and on Balearic Islands (129).
The residence permit in Spain on the basis of purchase of the real estate in 2019 was received by 681 foreigners that there is 13.7% more than the level of previous year. Most of all "gold visas" in this category Chinese (455) and Russians received (42). Six other countries added everyone at least 10 similar permissions for the citizens. It is Iran (21), the USA (16), Mexico (13), Saudi Arabia (11), Egypt (10) and Philippines (10).
The secretary general of Association of builders of Spain (APCE) Daniel Kuervo considers that the received figures suggest that "the procedure of obtaining the residence permit has a considerable impact on the sector of the real estate and economy in general". However he urges to lower an entrance threshold within the residence permit program for investments to increase sales of housing.
"Portugal, for example, was the focus of attention of foreign investors, and there the threshold of an entrance makes only €250,000. Why and to us not to lower this figure that sales of housing became a little more dynamic?" – the expert asks a question.
