Description

The ancient castle is located between Dresden and Hemnits, in the southwest of the nature reserve. Nearby there passes the highway, the distance to Dresden makes about 30 km, to Leipzig about 70 km. Historically the lock has been surrounded with ditch, about 15 meters wide and 8 meters in depth. Through ditch conduct 2 bridges: main bridge and northern bridge. Construction is dated 1260, in 1975 expansion of the southern wing of the lock has been completed. Till 1995 the lock was used as hotel, now is used as the residence in private order. Major repair has been made in 1990, repair, especially upper floors is necessary now. The lock includes 3 floors, penthouse, basements, 62 rooms. The area of the lock is 3100 sq.m, plottage of 16,000 sq.m. The lock has 10 garages, about 60 parking spaces. Perhaps different use of the lock, restrictions does not exist.
