The ancient castle is located in quiet place in the district Linz, Upper Austria. For the first time the lock was mentioned in 1224, in 1580 on site the old building today's lock, three-storyed, rectangular with two round towers and the Renaissance portal has been constructed. The area of the lock is 933 sq.m, the territory includes 6 sites with a total area of 11,973 sq.m. In the territory of the lock there are several sources of water which are considered as curative.
Linz - the administrative center of the State of Upper Austria. The city is located in northwest part of the country on the Danube River. The first mentioning of it belongs to 799. Then the Martinskirkhe church which is the most ancient operating church of Austria now has been constructed. In 1678 in Linz Jesuits have constructed other church which carries the name Old cathedral now, and in 1924, after more than semicentennial work there was New cathedral which height of towers reaches 135 m. In 2009 for year Linz has been chosen as the cultural capital of Europe. It is impossible to call this choice accidental, Linz since ancient times is considered the center of culture and formation of Austria, the numerous museums among which one of the largest museums of the modern art - Lentos, theaters, concert and showrooms are located here.
In 15 km to the southeast of Linz there is one of the oldest monasteries of the country - the monastery Sankt-Florean. Construction of monastic monastery has begun in the 4th century AD, however the modern look has got the monastery in 1751. To the southeast Linz on slopes of the Alps the National park Kalkalpen was located. The most part of the park is covered with forests, and about 30 various types of the woods are charged extra here.
