The lock has been constructed in the XII century. Within the next 800 years it served as the residence for many high-ranking officials who had huge influence on the country. For these eight centuries lived in the lock: German knightly award, graphs, dukes, noblemen, archbishops, patricians, barons, princes and deputies. About all these dignitaries it is possible to read in memorials. By the end of the 19th century the lock was expanded to its present state. Buildings have been built according to the superior quality characteristic of that century. In the 1990s and for the last few years the lock has been expanded, restored and upgraded (including roofs, windows, electrical equipment, heating and so on).

In one wing of the lock the hotel with about 30 berths, the banquet room and great restaurant has been open. This lease agreement can be terminated at any time. The body of the lock of 2000 sq.m is at the moment empty. This part includes 800-year cellar which is used as wine cellar now. On upper floor there are several big halls, for example, the knightly hall and so on. 

The lock, with its wonderful park about 18,000 sq.m, is one of the finest castles of Europe. It was located in the upper Valley of Rhine between Frankfurt and Cologne. The interior of the lock is ideal both for private use, and for use as hotel or for institutions of the top class. The lock, despite the proximity to the city core, is hidden from views of passersby. It is in only 20 minutes from the airport and in 10 minutes from the city core. The size of the park is 18,478 sq.m. Useful area in the lock is about 2,663 sq.m. The property can be sold uncharged by debts. The lock is architecture monument, however there is possibility of changes of interior. Agency commission with the VAT is paid by the buyer.

This lock restored with use of modern technologies with its glamour, architecture and history, is one of the most prestigious and magnificent houses in Europe having various opportunities of application. The lock is under protection as monument, changes in the lock are possible, it can be remade in hotel with 80 numbers. The lock can be used as the exclusive residence of the company as seminar center, hotel or owner-occupied dwelling. Additional building is possible, i.e. additional constructions can be erected on Palace Square.
